The Wilderness Trails food is as much part of the region as our small team. Where possible it is sourced locally with much of it coming from our own farm. The lodge grows fruit and vegetables for its restaurant kitchen in the nearby garden.
Here we grow over sixty different varieties, all of which feature on the menu when in season. This combined with locally sourced meat and cheeses made by the Craig family means the meals are a very family affair. A team of three local chefs work hard to bring our guests the best 'farm house' cooking focused around these local ingredients.
It has become increasingly popular for our guests to visit the veggie garden and to be given a tour of it all from seedlings through to the mango trees. All are reared under the watchful eye of Will Craig's mother, Delia, who has farmed that very piece of land for more years than we can count. Her experience tells and you are welcome to explore this aspect as much as what Lewa Conservancy itself offers.
